Random fact
Her Oni horns are a little sensitive, and she sometimes lightly covers them with her hands when she’s nervous/embarrassed.
Oni are often seen as violent and aggressive yokai, but Kijo was an exception. While powerful negative emotions normally empower the yokai, Kijo found her strength from uplifting others. Growing up in a small village deep in the mountains and away from humans, she would only hear stories from her elders. She was content with her peaceful life yet Kijo found that no one in the village ever needed her cheers to complete their tasks. Feeling unfulfilled, she wandered out of the safety of the mountains into human civilization, where she wandered right into a street performer… performing to no one.
Kijo had heard about the world of idols through the occasional showing on the tiny screen in her village’s community hall. They were always so bright and cheerful because of their large crowds, but this girl had a somber expression. Kijo felt her heart clench for the poor human so much so that she did not realise she had stepped out of the shadows to gently clap for her at the end of the song. Initially shocked at seeing the horned girl, the performer smiled brightly and continued her setlist with all her heart and soul. The yokai remained for the rest of the set, cheering louder and louder after every song. As the last song was sung, the unnamed idol announced that it was her last ever performance as an idol but asked Kijo to promise her that she would continue to cheer for others just like her. The Oni, teary-eyed nodded and promised to her that she will never let another idol show such a sad expression during a performance. When she returned home, she resolved to practise the ways of wotagei and idol calls. To do this, she needed to explore the world to meet more idols!
Leaving the safety of the yokai village was not easy. Oni were associated with bad omens so other humans would cast her away despite her positive nature but it never deterred Kijo. She had passion that could not be quelled! On one journey, she stumbled upon a beautiful garden lured by a quiet hum. Before she realised it, she had discovered the MOE mansion, face to face with an undead being, singing with such an expressionless face. It reminded her so much of that idol, she had to make her smile!
With a fiery passion, her hands are always reaching for her lightblades, waiting for the right moment;
“AH, YOSSHA IKUZO!”
