Random fact

Since arriving in the future, she’s found a love for video games, and her favourite is Animal Crossing

Hestia was born in the mid-19th century to a gentry family who wanted her to raise her status in Victorian society. The society she lived in was so full of regulations and expectations, somewhere Hestia felt like she could never truly be herself. This made her lament on whether or not she would live like this for the rest of her life, if the future would be different for girls like her. Her family would pressure her into attending galas to find a wealthy suitor but much to their scorn, she had such a love of research and inventing that she would spend too much time at the local library and bazaar. Many times she would pick up a broken trinket and tinker with it, just to see if she could get it to work again. The days in her workshop away from the pressures of grandeur society were always her favourite ones.

One day, she found a pocket watch seemingly abandoned by the roadside. Opening it to try to reunite it with its owner she discovered that the dials were non-functional. An easy fix, the young inventor thought; It just needed a little bit of adjusting! She could already imagine the glee the owner would have upon finding their lost watch now fixed and working! She hurried back into her workshop and opened it up. She has never seen such intricate and beautiful clockwork! It was like every piece was refined and curated just for this watch. Hestia was amazed by this new technology- something she never had seen before.

After working for hours upon hours, it was finally time to test out the watch. Clicking the backing back in she turned to open the clock face and that’s when her ears started to ring. A ding of a clock she’d never heard of before. The floor beneath her began to shake violently.

An Earthquake? No, it felt like the world around her was twisting and warping. Soon all she could see was darkness and she felt like she was floating. Flashes of light would fly around her, sometimes she could make out unknown scenarios. She must have fallen asleep whilst working on the watch, that was the only explanation right? Marveling at the sights, believing she would soon wake up, Hestia floated across the depths of this dimension. She saw a beautiful sight, a neatly kept garden surrounded by gorgeous flowers. Feeling drawn towards it, she instinctively reached her hand out,  when suddenly that draw became a pull and she was whisked towards said sight where a bright light would engulf her.

The next thing Hestia knew, she had woken up in a bush- the very same one she saw in the vision. Disorientated, she took a deep breath before a voice broke out,

“Oh gosh! Who are you and how did you end up in there?” A magnifying glass was pushed towards her face, blue eyes nearing her. Hestia paused for a moment before explaining that she had no idea. They would throw her in some sort of cell if she told them what had just occurred (Not even Hestia would believe it!). A brief pause before the glass pulled even close towards the young inventor’s face.

“Hmm, this is a real puzzle… Looks like I have to investigate” The detective circled around her checking for any clues that might satisfy her curiosity, “Don’t you worry, the number one detective is on the case!”

Unsure of what to do and with nothing but the familiar watch in hand to her name, Hestia accepted the offer from the inquisitive maid in order to learn about this new future until she finds a way back to her home time.
